Bob Chilcott strikes gold with new work for upper voices

Bob Chilcott strikes gold with new work for upper voices

A Sporting Chance is a fun and lively choral work on the theme of sport, games, and exercise. Each of the seven movements celebrates a different sport - you'll find running, soccer, weightlifting, and more - and words by the composer provide an entertaining narrative of each event. Look out for exciting choral effects, such as panting, rapping, and grunting, as well as active audience participation and even a slow-motion race from the trumpet players. Scored for unison upper voices with optional extra parts, this crowd-pleaser will have both choir and audience cheering for their home team and willing the athlete to 'run for gold'!

Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in style

Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in style

We have plenty of material available to help you celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee this summer.

Take a look at our orchestral packs such as Hubert Parry's great coronation anthem I Was Glad or Handel's Zadok the Priest, which you can find by clicking the Goodmusic Orchestral Packs tab on the left.

Or perhaps you need a wider range of material, in which case Concerts for Choirs : Sing Britannia may be the right thing for you. If you need more advice on building a programme of music for a Diamond Jubilee concert, call us free on 0800 072 0354.

It's Oscars Time!

It's Oscars Time!

Yes, it's that time of year again, when our darkest days are brightened by the wonderful oratory of our finest actors.

One thing that cannot be denied is the sheer quality of music written for the movies over the past hundred years or so. The work of John Williams, John Barry, James Horner, Elmer Bernstein, Ennio Morricone et al stands comparison with many so-called classical composers, and is almost always melodic and attractive, making it extremely rewarding to play.

So why not while away these dark winter evenings with a selection from our growing range of music from film and television.
